Recommendation
Dr. Sloss stated that there are only four men in
this category and that it represents the highest
normal salary to which most men in the Education
Department can aspire. If the Administrative long-
scale is stopped at £1,630 (as suggested in (1)
above) an adjustment in the salary proposed for
Principals in the Education Department will be
necessary. C.S.D. think that a fixed salary of
£1,630 would be suitable.

Labour Commissioner
The scale proposed is £1,950 rising to
£2,100 for expatriate officers. It was suggested
that it should be at a fixed salary as is the custom
in the case of most Heads of Departments.
post is at present filled by a Class I Cadet.
Recommendation
The
Dr. Sloss stated that he had no feeling about
this so long as the maximum of £2,100 stands.
C.S.D. consider that a fixed salary of £2,100 would
be suitable.
